Based on a poem by the Tang poet Ts’ui Hao
A man once rode away on a yellow crane,
leaving only this empty pavilion.
Once gone, the yellow crane never returns;
white clouds pass a thousand empty interminable years.
Lucent sky, river and Han-yang trees,
thick perfumed grass of Ying-wu Isle,
sunset, which way is home?
Mist and waves on the river. I’m sad.
