When I enter the cemetery
of San Felice a Ema
I have to go past many tombstones
and must actually walk across the grave
of Enrico Nencioni
a distinguished writer of whom I know little.
I don’t hold out much hope for our voyage together
my dear, knowing as I do how a few bones
preserve less than nothing of what we are.
